PG Dems meet on April 5:
At this meeting, we will be making plans for our booth at the May 5 Community Day at Scott Park. These are pictures from some our past Community Day booths.
We are seeking gently used, colorful “springesque” clothing, handbags, jewelry, and so on to sell to bargain hunters. So we need contributions to that effort and we will need volunteers at the May 5 Community Day. We hope to have campaign lit, signs (if available). We will register voters, have Restoration of Rights information available, and so on.
Other dates on the horizon …
The General Assembly will be called into special session on April 11, primarily to deal with the budget. A large aspect of the budget impasse from the regular session is the expansion of Medicaid. All Virginians have a stake in this, not only those who might be able to have access to medical coverage. The budget affects all of us.
April 18 is Veto Day, the day on which the General Assembly, comes back into session to deal with, if it can, vetoes from Governor Northam.
Plan to attend our business meeting on April 5 and learn more about what is going on in the political arena and in our community.
